Genetic testing company GenePlanet has raised $22 million in a series B funding round led by BlackPeak Capita with participation from Darwin, Kolektor, Designed Impact Ventures and others.
The money will be used to support global expansion, with a strategic focus on Europe and Latin America.
GenePlanet is also aiming to develop new products and build infrastructure for big data projects, including an advanced “large language model” artificial intelligence system.
Chief executive Marko Bitenc said: "With this financial boost, we can accelerate our expansion, aiming to establish profitable operations in 50 countries within the next five years, while also investing in cutting-edge AI technology to revolutionize genetic testing."
