Boehringer Ingelheim launches diabetes collaboration with Connexios Life Sciences

German family-owned drug major Boehringer Ingelheim has announced a global research collaboration with Indian biotech company Connexios Life Sciences for AMPK agonists for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes.

As part of the agreement, Boehringer obtains global rights to CNX-012, Connexios Life Sciences’ program on AMPK activators. The program includes CNX-570 and other compounds in early pre-clinical development. Boehringer Ingelheim will be responsible for all further development and commercialization of the candidates from the AMPK program. Further terms and financial details were not disclosed.
