Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, the wholly-owned but independently operated subsidiary of Bayer (BAYN: DE), has appointed a new chief scientific officer.

Based in North Carolina and also known as AskBio, the company is focused on using gene therapy technology to develop life-saving medicines in a range of therapy areas.

The company maintains a portfolio of clinical programs across a range of neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular, and metabolic disease indications.
