Third US approval for Samsung Bioepis biosimilar

Samsung Bioepis has received another approval for a biosimilar in the USA.

The Korean company, which is a joint venture between Samsung BioLogics and Biogen (Nasdaq: BIIB), is free to market Eticovo, a copy of Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) and Pfizer’s (NYSE: PFE) blockbuster Enbrel (etanercept).

Samsung Bioepis’ copy has been approved across all eligible indications for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
