The US subsidiary of South Korea-based Celltrion Healthcare (KRX: 068270) has announced that Ventegra, a major US Medical Benefits Manager (MBM) who administers pharmacy benefits through its Pharmacy Services Administration (PSA) model, will place an FDA-approved biosimilar to Roche’s (ROG: SIX) Avastin (bevacizumab), Vegzelma (bevacizumab-adcd), on its commercial formulary as a preferred brand.
Ventegra's proprietary formulary program (which includes Formulary Shield and the Ventegra Specialty Inclusion Program) is available for access by more than 400 clients and 13 million members/patients that are enrolled with Ventegra.
Vegzelma was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2022 for the treatment of six types of cancer: metastatic colorectal cancer; recurrent or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (nsNSCLC); recurrent glioblastoma; metastatic renal cell carcinoma; persistent, recurrent, or metastatic cervical cancer; and epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.
