Avastin biosimilar gains approval in Europe

Chinese biotech Bio-Thera Solutions (SHSE: 688177) has picked up European Medicines Agency approval for BAT1706, a biosimilar referencing Avastin (bevacizumab).

The decision marks Bio-Thera's second EMA-approved product, reinforcing its position in the rapidly growing antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) market.

Chief executive Shengfeng Li said: "The EMA approval of BAT1706 is another significant accomplishment for Bio-Thera."
