Astellas licenses Ferring's Degarelix
Japanese pharmaceutical major Astellas has licensed the prostate cancer drug degarelix from Swiss drugmaker Ferring, granting it the rights to market the agent in the domestic market. Astellas will make undisclosed upfront payments, as well as royalties on evenutal sales of the injectable gonadotrophin-releasing hormone blocker, and will take over its development from Phase II onwards.
