Walgreens, the USA's largest drugstore chain, has completed the acquisition of 31 Drug Fair stores in central and western New Jersey. The announcement follows an agreement reached in March associated with Drug Fair's Chapter 11 process. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In addition, Walgreens has purchased the prescription files for the following Drug Fair locations at: 449 Lakeview Avenue, Clifton, NJ; and 2960 Route 10 West, Morris Plains, NJ.
Patients previously served by these pharmacies have immediate access to their prescription histories at any nearby Walgreens. The firm also expects to complete transactions for two additional Drug Fair locations in the upcoming weeks.
