Trumpcare on life support with time running out

Republicans in the US Congress went into last month’s vote to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with guidance from President Trump, effectively: ‘Vote yes or you’re stuck with Obamacare.’

In the end the party called the whole thing off, facing certain defeat, as it became clear the threat wasn’t enough to cajole lawmakers unhappy that the measures went too far, or not far enough.

Democrats rejoiced at the demise of Trumpcare, but it’s showing signs of life.
