Ribozyme rebrands to Sirna Therapeutics
Nasdaq-listed Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals has changed its name to SirnaTherapeutics to reflect the changing focus of the firm, which will now concentrate its activities on the R&D of RNA interference-based therapeutics. The name Sirna, noted the company, was chosen to represent the silencing of RNA, a mechanism that inhibits the expression of disease-causing genes.
