BIA appointments and retirement

The UK BioIndustry Association has elected Paul Haycock as its newchairman. Dr Haycock, who takes over from Vanguard Medica chief executive Robert Mansfield, was most recently CEO of Cantab Pharmaceuticals and is a director of the venture capital group Apax Partners. Meantime, Jurek Sikorski, current CEO of Cantab, is named vice chairman of the BIA. John Sime, CEO of the BIA, is to retire from the association at the end of June.
