Beacon and Takeda initiate multi-year drug discovery collaboration

San Diego, USA-based Beacon Discovery has formed a multi-year drug discovery collaboration with Japan’s Takeda Pharmaceutical (TYO: 4502).

The privately held firm is focused on G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), which play an important role in the pathology of gastrointestinal disorders.

Through the collaboration, Beacon will leverage its GPCR drug discovery expertise to identify drug candidates for a range of GI diseases with significant unmet medical need.
