AstraZeneca's £1 billion research facility opened by Prince Charles

Prince Charles was among the first visitors to AstraZeneca’s (LSE: AZN) Discovery Centre (DISC) on Tuesday.

The heir to the British throne was invited to officially open the new £1 billion ($1.34 billion) facility in Cambridge, where the headquarters of the Anglo-Swedish company are based.

Prince Charles praised AstraZeneca’s efforts during the pandemic in developing a vaccine in such a short time-scale. He was joined at the opening by Pascal Soriot, AstraZeneca’s chief executive, the chairman, Leif Johansson, and other members of the senior executive team and board.
