Americans trust pharma, despite Rx recalls: study

In light of recent prescription drug recalls, US physicians and consumers alike are concerned about drug safety, agreeing that more should be done to monitor medicines for side effects after they are approved for market in order to ensure their safe use, according to the findings of a new survey conducted by Accenture.

The study, which questioned more than 100 physicians and 500 consumers, revealed that 67% of the doctors and 32% of consumers say that they have become more concerned about the safety of prescription medications since the recent removal from the US market, and elswhere, of the COX-2 inhibitors (Marketletters passim).
